Ballroom Dance Program Description

Your Dance Journey: From First Steps to Full Confidence

We’re here to help you grow as a dancer—whether you’re just starting out or aiming for advanced International style. Our program builds step-by-step, mixing fun, structure, and real progress.

Level 1 – Getting Started

In your first year, you’ll learn the basics of Waltz, Tango, Swing, Cha Cha, and Samba. Level 1 includes two 8-week group classes, meeting once a week for an hour. You’ll pick up easy-to-follow steps and simple combos to help you feel comfortable on the dance floor.

Level 2 – Adding More Moves

Now it’s time to level up with Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, and continue building on the dances you started in Level 1.You’ll learn new patterns and start moving more naturally and confidently.

Level 3 – Sharpening Your Technique

This level runs for six months and takes a deeper dive into the eight core dances. We also introduce Slow Foxtrot. You’ll start focusing more on how you move—not just what steps you do.

Level 4 – Stepping Into Intermediate

Here’s where you start learning International-style Silver-level material. You’ll work on looking smooth and polished with better flow, control, and connection with your partner.

Level 5 – Silver & Gold Mastery

This is where it all comes together. You’ll work on all 10 International dances, focusing on two each month. We’ll dig into more advanced techniques, rhythm changes, and even some choreography. To keep up, regular practice and class attendance are a must!

Keep Going, Keep Growing

As you move up, the dancing gets more exciting—and more challenging. If you ever need to review, you’re welcome to repeat a level or take a few private lessons to fine-tune things. We’re with you all the way, helping you become the best dancer you can be.

Practice Parties

A Practice Party is an informal dance event that gives students a chance to practice their steps in a real social dance setting. These gatherings are typically held monthly and welcome dancers of all skill levels.

What to Expect:

Music Variety: Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Club-style music that matches the dances being taught (e.g., Waltz, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Tango, Foxtrot, Salsa, etc.). Open Floor: Dancers can freely rotate partners or stay with their own, encouraging social interaction and lead-follow skills. Instructor Support: Teachers are often present to offer light coaching, answer questions, or dance with students. Relaxed Atmosphere: Unlike formal competitions or showcases, practice parties are casual and focused on fun and improvement.

Purpose:

Reinforce techniques from class. Gain confidence on the dance floor. Develop rhythm, timing, and partner connection. Meet other dancers and build community.

Attire:

Comfortable and clean dancewear is typical—sometimes themed (e.g., '80s night, tropical attire) depending on the event.
